When I was 10 or so, I lived in Long Island, New York, a place called Holtsville. I had a very good friend named Eddie (can't remember
his last name), he had red hair and freckles... In Long Island, in most places, it is wooded. We lived in a condo complex and out
behind our units, were woods that led to a school (Tarrymac was the name, I think...)
Anyway, to make a long story short, it was
fall and we were walking along a leaf strewn path, coming back from this school. To our right, there was a shack that was said to be
inhabited by a strange old man. As we are peering at this shack, making ourselves afraid, Eddie comes to stop. His face has gone
completely white and he is looking to the right and at the ground. I follow his gaze and see what I can only explain as someone
walking through the leaves and accross our path, only, there was no one there. We clearly saw the leaves moving as if someone were
walking but saw no one.
We started running as fast as we could and never looked back. I don't think we even talked of it. This is my first time relating this.
I want to believe that it didn't happen and that it was some sort of vivid dream, but, I know what I saw. I lost contact with Eddie
after moving from Holtsville.
